AM labels

AM labels are ideal for use in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and clothing industries, as well as for securing electronic accessories. AM labels are available in a range of colours.

AM anti-theft tags are one of the most effective components of an EAS system, which is used to protect goods against theft. Nova’s range includes various types of acousto-magnetic tags – self-adhesive, barcoded and tailored to different retail sectors. Our solutions are ideal for use in, amongst others, grocery shops, Household appliances, audio and video equipment, in chemists and supermarkets.

What are AM anti-theft tags used for?

AM (acousto-magnetic) anti-theft tags are used to protect products against theft. They work in conjunction with AM-based EAS gates (i.e. antennas operating at a frequency of 58 kHz), creating a detection zone that detects active protection and triggers an alarm.

It is a fundamental tool in a retail loss prevention strategy, which effectively reduces in-store wastage resulting, amongst other things, from theft and operational errors.

How do anti-theft labels for products work?

Acousto-magnetic tags operate using AM technology (58 kHz), utilising a resonator that responds to the field generated by anti-theft gates. When label When an item enters the detection zone, the EAS system identifies its signal and triggers an alarm. At the moment At the till, the AM security tag is deactivated, meaning it is no longer detected by the EAS gates and does not set off the alarm on exit.

Which products protect acousto-magnetic labels?

Anti-theft labels for products are used in many sectors – particularly those where rapid application and high detection efficiency are key.

They are most commonly used to protect food products (including packaging, bottles and tins), household chemicals (e.g. detergents and cleaning products), industrial goods (e.g. electronics and various types of accessories), packaged products (including cardboard boxes, blister packs and films), as well as cosmetics and perfumes. AM labels for food shops are particularly valued for their quick application and compatibility with checkouts handling high customer volumes.

FAQ

Do AM anti-theft tags fit in every security gate?

No – they must be compatible with AM technology (58 kHz), so they need to be tailored to a specific EAS system.

Can self-adhesive AM labels be removed without damaging the product?

Usually not, because they are designed to make removal as difficult as possible, which is intended to enhance security.

Can acousto-magnetic tags be deactivated at the till?

Yes – most models are designed to be deactivated using dedicated devices located at the till.
